HBO Max is a streaming service that provides on-demand content, including the best of HBO, Warner Bros., Harry Potter, DC, Discovery and more!
HBO Max will be available from Monday 31 March 2025. Foxtel residential customers with an internet enabled iQ3, iQ4 or iQ5 will have the HBO Max Basic With Ads included with their subscription. Customers who do not have an iQ3, iQ4 or iQ5 box will need to contact Foxtel to upgrade their box.
Customers will also have the option to upgrade their HBO Max subscription and will have to pay the difference in price from their HBO Max Basic With Ads.
Note: Customers on an RSP (Reduced Service Package) or suspended due to Non-Payment are not eligible to access the HBO Max app.
3. Where can customer access HBO Max?

Streaming App:
HBO Max is available as a streaming app accessible via the app and android store, smart TV's and puck devices.

HBO Max on Foxtel:
Customers can enjoy HBO Max directly on their compatible iQ set top box or download the HBO Max app on compatible devices.
HBO Max offers three tiers.

Note:
* Ads on HBO Max: All content will have at the very least pre-roll ads and almost all will have mid-roll ads.
^Download inclusions in the HBO Max Standard Upgrade and HBO Max Premium Upgrade may include restrictions in some content categories. Additionally, downloads will not be available on Foxtel boxes.
^HBO Max HDR 10 titles, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are currently not supported on Foxtel set top boxes.
Important note: Ensure that customers have successfully activated their HBO Max Basic With Ads through their Foxtel box before upgrading their HBO Max tier.

HBO Max includes the best of HBO, Warner Bros., Harry Potter, DC, Discovery and more. Some of the popular titles are listed below:
- HBO - The White Lotus, The Last of Us, Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon and the Sopranos.
- Warner Bros - The Big Bang Theory, Two and Half men and Friends
- The Max Originals - Peacemaker, Hacks, Gossip Girls (reboot) and the Flight Attendant
- DC Studios - The Dark Knight Trilogy, Aquaman, Blue Beetle, The Flash, Justice League, Suicide Squad
- Wizarding World - Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beast franchises
Note: Warner Bros. content will move from the Foxtel platform from March at varying times.

Foxtel Now customers will not have access to HBO Max and associated content from Tuesday 1 April 2025. To be able to access this content, these customers will need to move to Foxtel residential service with an internet connected iQ4 or iQ5 box. Note: Transfer these customers to the Foxtel Sales team to convert their service from Foxtel Now to a Foxtel residential service.
Reminder: Customers will get the below offer when switching off Foxtel Now to a Foxtel residential service:
- Free iQ5 (internet connect) self-install kit
- Equivalent Platinum 2024 offer (dependent on their Foxtel Now bundle)

7. How to activate the subscription
Customers will have the below methods in order to correctly register their HBO Max service with Foxtel and set up their HBO Max account.
- Using the HBO Max app from the "app screen"
- Directly from Warner Bros. content

8. Pausing and Resuming HBO Max services
If a customer suspends their Foxtel service or enters collections, they will lose access to their HBO Max Basic With Ads plan. Once their Foxtel is restored customers can re-register their HBO Max account by selecting any HBO Max tile on the home screen or launching the HBO Max app via the Apps menu and must use the same credentials used when originally registering. Note: If a customer is reconnecting to their HBO Max account using the same email, it will be recognised and can be reactivated using the same information after a one-time pass code is sent to the registered email address.
Foxtel will notify customers using marketing communication.

11. Foxtel vs HBO Max responsibilities

Foxtel
- Foxtel will own any enquiries about the management of HBO Max as a part of the Foxtel bill including upgrades and downgrades of tiers and any HBO Max related charges presented on Foxtel bills.

Foxtel will own any registration and troubleshooting enquires associated to the sign up and accessing of the HBO Max app on iQ3, iQ4 and iQ5 boxes.

- HBO Max is responsible for its content and presentation. Customers should refer their enquires about content concerns and its shows to HBO Max directly.

How many ads are included in the HBO Max Basic With Ads plan?

If a customer has a satellite connection instead of an internet connected Foxtel box, will they still get HBO Max?
Customers will still receive the HBO Max Basic With Ads plan in their residential Satellite or Internet Foxtel service as long as they have an iQ3, iQ4 or iQ5 box and is connected to the internet.
