4. Upcoming content changes 2026
UFC Main Event channel closure
From Monday 27 August 2026, the Main Event UFC channel will no longer be available on Foxtel and Foxtel Now.
Most UFC Pay-Per-View (PPV) events will continue to be available to purchase and watch via the Main Event channels available on Foxtel. Customers will still be able to access UFC preliminary cards via the Paramount+ app on internet connected iQ3, iQ4 and iQ5 boxes (note: a separate Paramount+ subscription will be required).
Agents should use the following reactive response for customers enquiries:
"The Main Event UFC channel was used to screen a backlog of UFC pay-per-view content on a dedicated channel. Despite this channel being removed from the Foxtel line up, you will continue to have the option to access the UFC preliminary cards with a Paramount+ subscription via your internet connected iQ3, iQ4 or iQ5 box, and the continued ability to order UFC Main Events via the Foxtel store".
Sky News rebrand
From Monday 27 July 2026, Sky News Australia will operate under the new name 'News24'.
What are the new channel names?

Will the channel numbers change?
No, the channel numbers will remain same.
Will Sky News UK change?
No, Sky News UK HD will remain unchanged.
Do I need to resubscribe or make any changes to my subscription?
No, you do not need to make any changes to your subscription, the 'News24' rebrand will happen automatically from Monday 27 July 2026.
Will the talent change?
No, the talent and presenters will remain same.
High Definition (HD) channel upgrade
From Wednesday 15 July, the following channels will be upgraded from SD to HD:
All 7 Nightlife music channels will receive an HD upgrade.
British Cinema and Aussie Classics will also receive an HD upgrade for customers on Satellite.
Note: These channels are already available in HD for customers with an internet connected box.
Foxtel Now - channels added to platform
From Wednesday 8 July, CGTN (ch. 653) and Al Jazeera (ch. 651) will be available on Foxtel Now.
5. AFL and NRL 2026
AFL updates:
The only place to watch every game of super Saturday live nationally until round 10 is Fox Footy. Once again Fox Footy commentary and graphics on every game across the season and every game in 4K Ultra HD on Foxtel.
The below are 2026 fixtures for AFL Premiership Season along with some of the key highlights:
- Opening Round – 2 games exclusively live nationally on Super Saturday for the first time ever
- Rd 1 – there are 6 of last year's Top 8 sides (including the Top 4) playing on Super Saturday exclusively live nationally
- Consistency in Super Saturday exclusively live windows across SA, WA, NSW, and QLD – up to and including Rd 10 which is over and above the contracted minimum of 8 rounds (+2 additional rounds in SA and WA compared to 2025)

NRL updates:
The below are 2026 fixtures for NRL and NRLW Premiership Seasons along with some of the key highlights for Foxtel Group:

- 3 week competition (as per 2025)
- 4 double headers from the same venue
- 4 regional locations (-1 on 2025)

For example:

These types of technical questions need to be escalated to the correct team.
