Broadband FTTP and HFC potential speed issue
A system issue has been identified affecting broadband speeds for select customers on FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) or HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxial) technology. These customers should typically be receiving speeds of 500 Mbps.
Follow these steps if a customer reports slow speeds:
- Confirm the customer is on FTTP or HFC technology.
- Run a speed test. If the speed test result is under 130 Mbps, this could indicate a potential issue within Telstra's systems.
- Perform NTD Port Reset in TW Hub, wait for the service to come back online (1-2 minutes) and re-test.
- If still under 130 raise to BOH for investigation.
- Inform the customer that we are investigating the issue and our BOH team will provide an update within 48 business hours.
